    Hi there.

I am having a lot of issues trying to connect to Xbox Live (1 month). I am connecting through my wireless MacBook Leopard laptop with an ethernet cable (wired connection) from the 360 to the laptop (ICS I think.) The Xbox 360 Live Test fails at IP Address. I have forwarded UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074 on my AT&T router. I have tried countless times setting the IP manually and have tried automatically. I forwarded the ports for an unused IP address and used the same IP for the test and still failed. I have also allowed all things through my router firewall and regular firewall. Please help I am very desperate. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you. :)

Are you connecting wireless or wired? If wireless, what is your encryption level? Are you able to connect straight to the modem (bypassing the router)?

From your post it sounds as if you are trying to connect through a PC, rather than straight to the router or modem. Why are you making it that complicated for yourself? :confused

Maybe the XBox is not near the router, so the only option is to connect through the PC or pay £50 for a wireless adapter. When I had this problem connecting through a laptop, i made a network bridge between the wireless and wired connections, and that seemed to work. Im not an expert at this sort of thing but its just an idea.

When you say that you forwarded the UDP and TCP ports, what range did you set them to?

They need to be 88 to 88, 3074 to 3074 etc.

Also I reckon that connecting through the MacBook through to a wireless won't work as it needs its own dynamic and this won't be obtained unless its going through a Windows based computer - this is because setting a shared connection is a lot easier to do through Windows.

Or pay a lot less for a longer cable ;)

When you set up your connection between the xbox and the laptop you have to bridge the connection to the one from your laptop to the wireless connection. If you go into the control panel under network connections you should have 2 there. One for the xbox and one for the internet. Right click on one then select bridge connection and select the other. This should take care of your problem. If you don't see a connection there to the xbox then you will have to create one first then bridge them. Not hard but can be laggy at times.
