Hi Geeks and Geekettes. Maybe this should be in malware? Anyhow I was looking thru my software listed in my RegCleaner and found xbtb toolbar. Now I have installed and uninstalled quite a few legit toolbars, but this one doesn't ring a bell. I googled it and didn't find any info that meant anything to me. Could someone please give me some info on "xbtb toolbar?" THANKS

Hi Toni. After reading your reply, I simply used my RegCleaner to remove the xbtb toolbar and then ran all my "in-house" scans (AdAware SE, Spybot S&D, SUPERAntiSpyware, and AVG free, (all updated, of course)) in safe mode with hidden files shown. (Also ran A-Squared V2.0 but it won't run in safe mode on my system.) Everything came out clean. I was determined to find something so I ran some on-line scans: Webroot Spysweeper and Pest Patrol came out clean. Bitdefender found (3) instances of Trojan.Killapp. It removed 2 immediately, but I had to turn off my System Restore to get the last one. I then ran CCleaner (including "issues"), rebooted, ran ALL the above scans again, in safe mode when possible. Since Bitdefender was the only scan that found anything, I ran it last and it also tested clean. Then I hid the hidden files and turned System Restore back on. I actually would have ran more on-line scans, but I'm running Windows ME so some aren't available to me; however I can't really imagine any malware getting past that gauntlet of scans, especially w/ System Restore turned off and hidden files shown, so I'm going to consider my system clean (knock wood.) Thanks for your concern.
BTW...Spyfighter.com shows RED on Site Advisor and is listed as 'rogue' at Spyware Warrior for false positives.

    Hi!
Glad you're all better now. I sure didn't mean for you to d/l or try out any software on that site.
It's where I found the Malware you mentioned listed in the data base....that's all. That's why I sent you to all the threads here at Major Geeks for help....I KNOW you're SAFE HERE!
    :)
