As a landscape photographer I shoot in RAW (no, not in the raw ;)) and use large files like multi-layered Photoshop psd files and tiffs. My image file sizes range from several hundred MB to over 2GB in size, so I use a lot of storage.

The XHD has a Properties window that has an option to "Disk Cleanup". In the "Disk Cleanup Options" window the choices are "My files only" and "Files from all users...".

I'm the only User, so if I choose "My files only", does the Disk Cleanup work on the XHD only or does it work on my internal HD also?

    Thanks. :)

If you're referring to the Disk Cleanup that's built-in to Windows, it cleans files from the selected drive only.

I don't know if it's "the Disk Cleanup that's built-in to Windows". It's Start>Computer>right-click the external HD icon>Properties. A window opens, with the name of the XHD, at the top of it, and in the "Capacity" section is a button labeled "Disk Cleanup". I click on this button and a "Disk Cleanup Options" window opens; the "My files only" option is the one I would choose.

If I choose this option, will Windows let me choose the XHD specifically and leave the internal HD alone? :confused
