XP and Ghost V8

I really need some help, neither MS or Symantec have been very forthcoming with solutions.

I should explain that I'm having the same problem with a PC and a laptop, also that I use sysprep before ghosting. Finally, once the ghost image has been loaded the PC (or laptop) is completed by means of an unattended build.

Here's the problem: at the very beginning of the build, after the image is loaded, the product code is entered, and it's at this point that the PC (again, and laptop) reboots and does into a loop.

As I say, I am using sysprep, according to MS and Symantec I'm using the correct version, the one that came in SP1. For info I have NOT loaded SP2 and am unlikely to do so at present.

I've used the older versions of Ghost, like 7.5 and 7.7, and once the sysprep has finished, if they start looping like that, then either the BIOS had to be upgraded or the image didn't like the IDE controller card and they had to be pulled. I haven't used Ghost 8, but I'd start with a BIOS upgrade first, unless you know there is an IDE controller in an expansion slot.

Those are my best two guesses. Hope it helps.

Those are the only two solutions I've seen here at work.
