xp anti spy ware 2012

    hi, I followed the instructions in read and run me first. I had to run the portable version of superspyware and after it found everything and deleted/quarantined it now all of my executables will not run. Scary. Please help.

    Just to clarify it acts just like when a file type is not associated with anything.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    You need to attach the logs we requested.


    Try the below.

    Download the below file to your Desktop. Once saved on your Desktop, Right click on it and select Install

    EXEfix

    Then see if you can run EXE files.

    Hard to attach logs that couldn't be run. However, I found the issue and can proceed with installing, running, and posting logs if necessary now. Hopefully I can just follow the instructions and won't need any further assistance. Thanks!

    You're welcome. Are you sure all of your malware is removed? Typically it is not.

    Are you having any problems seeing your programs in the Start menu? Also can your see your files and folders in Program Files and in other locations?

    I can see them all now. I also have internet access again and am not getting the constant pop up warnings. Now that I can run the rest of the programs and they are associated correctly I'm proceeding with the rest of the steps.
