xp anti spyware 2011

    Having trouble with pop ups from XP anti spyware 2011. I was trying to follow your initial steps before posting. Ran super antispyware scan. Then re-booted and now I can't access internet and I can't run super antispyware again to even get to the repairs tab. When I try to run a program, a box pops up asking what application I want to use to "open with".

    Any ideas?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    See if your inability to access the internet is due to a proxy setting as mentioned in the below:

    Proxy Server - Changing Settings


    With regards to the problem with running EXE files, can you get the Windows Registry Editor to open? Can you get Windows Explorer to open?

    Cannot get explorer to open and I am not sure if I use a proxy server or not. When I try to open firefox it first tells me to choose a program and when I choose to open with firefox it gives a long error message followed with "application not found"

    Operating system is XP.

    What is windows registry editor?

    Go HERE and scroll down to the exe file fix. See if you can then run the scans.
