Okay, first my system is a Pentium 4 1.7Mhz with 768Mb or RAM. It's an Intel motherboard. OS is Microsoft Windows XP Home 2002 with SP 2. 3 Internal IDE HDs and 1 USB HD. I have a USB 2.0 PCI card installed as well as the internal USB 1.1 bus. Out of 7 total USB ports, 6 are being used.

USB Devices: XMPCR, Logitech Quickcam, HD, Mouse, Toshiba Gigabeat HotSync Port, SansDisk card reader,

I'm having trouble with a Samsung DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive SM-332B. When I put audio CD's in the drive, nothing happens. Now, when I take it out and reinsert the same CD, then AutoRun runs and recognizes the CD. Always takes a reinsert to make it recognize the CD. Floppy drive light comes on both times too. Nothing in the floppy drive. Any ideas?

Also, I've been having a lot of trouble burning audio CDs. They always seem to fail near the end, but, that's another problem.

    Later,
    Dave

I had a player that did the same thing, theres a little switch inside the drawer that when it closes it trips the switch, after a while of opening and closing it decided to work all the time, try pushing on the drawer just as it is all most completely closed. ed

As a suggestion try cleaning the CD with Isopropnyl Alcohol (90%+) or a good alcohol. It may just be some grease or crud on the readable face of the CD.
