xp automatic update

My XP pro automatic update option was set to "Notify me but don't automatically download and install".Normally I click the yellow shield in the taskbar to select and start download updates. As soon as the selected download has finished, the yellow shield will ask my prmession to install them.I have been doing this procedure for years without any troubles.About two or three days ago the update yellow shield appeared in the taskbar telling me two updates were available, one was Outlook Express junk mail filter and the other is Office 2003 services pack 3.Strangely the yellow shield never shows up in the taskbar again to ask for permission to install the updates.When I turn off the computer at that day(download done), a message at the bottom of the Turn Off button saying a critical update is available and offering me a choice to install or not.At that time I did not know the Critical Update was for Outlook Express or Office 2003. I allowed to install it anyway.After reboot, I opened the "excell" and says SP2.So the Office service pack 3 is somewhere in the harddrive.Does anyone know to install this update?Thanks in advance.

 

Go to temp folder ( not temporary internet),And check there.Or you can go to this site and download manualy:

All updates are stored in

C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download

If you go to this folder you will find the update folder there. Open the folder and run the "Setup" exe.

Edit: I think it might be called "Update" exe but the update should be there.
