XP Bluetooth drivers for Cambridge Dongle

    Hi please help if you can.

    I run an XP SP3 rig with all uptodate patches. I bought a generic BlueTooth dongle which, when plugged in had XP loading all its drivers ok. I was able to "pair" the dongle with my Palm Treo no problem BUT couldn't make it sync. SO...

    I loaded in the latest Toshiba BT drivers and BINGO it all works very well all the time everytime. EXCEPT these drivers are an "evaluation version" and will expire after 30 days from install.

    Can anyone point me to another driver I can use?

    Incidentally my system tells me that the "generic" dongle is manufactured Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd. I have had no joy (or love) looking for drivers under this maker.

    Any ideas?

    Hi

    I would be tempted to contact Toshiba support and ask why are these drivers they supply only on 30 day trial, and why are they not free as Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd, dont seem to list these drivers for download.

    I guess the only barrier to your suggestion would be that my computer is not a Toshiba, it's a Dell (probably should have mentioned that, sorry) So why would Toshiba care?

    Hi

    They wouldnt but never know, always worth it to ask, if you dont you may have missed a potential fix.

    As I cannot find anything at Cambridge, post the info that is in Device Manager for that device, open Device Manager and open the Properties to this BT device and click Details tab and in the dropdown choose Hardware Ids and postg the info in the Value box, this may give a clue to search for a driver.
