    Hi all

I currently have another thread open in the malware forum to do with another machine. This problem is related to my desktop machine and has been bugging me for quite some time...

About 6 months ago this machine had vista removed because I had a lot of problems with it, constant 100% cpu usage etc. I then had a guy install XP with SP3 on it and have had no issues whatsoever since except this BSOD.

When I want to place my desktop in standby It automatically shows a BSOD with the following error messages...

    STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XB699C3B8, 0XB3D790F4, 0X00000000)
    HSX_CNXT.SYS address B699C3B8 base at B68F8000, DateStamp 45366d81

My computer is a Fujitsu Siemens with an ASUS motherboard>>
    Model MR2-FVM

I have a pdf manual of the MR2-FVM motherboard on my computer but I am not sure how to upload it if you need it?

Any help with this issue is appreciated thank you :)

It's the Conexant modem driver, I think, that's flagged by the BSOD, if you don't use dial-up, disable the modem in Device Manager.

Hi Satrow.. Thanks for your advice but I am computer ignorant :-o

Under modems in my machine it shows HAUWAI Mobile connect which is the connection I use (mobile midband/broadband usb dongle)

Does that mean you want me to disable PCI Soft data fax modem with smartCP?

Sorry for the stupid question :)

Ignore my previous message.. You were 100% correct about the problem/ When I clicked on PCI Soft data fax modem with smartCP and then drivers it showed it was from Conexant. I disabled it and now it goes to standby :cool

This has been a problem for months and you fixed it in about 3 minutes. Thank you!!!

It might not be fixed but in a week or so you'll know. It could be that the driver, or an associated file, was corrupt.
