XP Calculator

Over the past day I have downloaded something that has hidden the calculator, can someone tell me how to restore it?

I have already performed a system restore but that didn't work.

The calculator is also no longer in the accessory folder.

Hi

Easy option is to click Start > Run and type calc and see if the calculator re appears

If not then we need to delve deeper into this issue

If you have the Windows XP installation CD, try opening "Run" and enter sfc /scannow (include the space between sfc and the forward slash) and put the CD in when requested. Windows will attempt to repair/replace missing/corrupted files.

If you don't have a Windows XP CD
Look here: C:\WINDOWS\system32
and if you see calc.exe tight click it and send it to the desktop as a shortcut.

Calculator is one of the Windows Accessories that can be added or removed.

Here's how to restore it.

Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

in the left panel select Add/Remove Windows Components

select Accessories and Utilities in the list and then click Details

select Accessories again and then Details again

make sure there is a check mark in the box next to Calculator

continue clicking OK all the way out of the dialogs
