xp cd won't boot

I have a relatively new computer (about a year old). I installed xp on it when I first got it and used it until I tried out the beta version of Windows 7. Now I've been trying to put xp back on it and it will not boot to the cd. The cd is ok because it'll boot on other computers. It's not the cdrom because it will boot to Windows Vista cd and Windows 7 cd. It's not the hard drive because the Vista and 7 cd will boot without the hard drive connected. What else can it be? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

 

Are you trying to install XP onto a partition on the HDD and thus run several OS's?

 

I'm just trying to load xp with a clean install.

Here are some tools for wiping the current HDD so you can install a fresh copy:

Try those and then reinstall.
