   I had to install xp home edition to my HP Pavillion. I used to have xp prof. Now, I am not able to move the slider from 800x600. The slider will not move. Can anyone help me? I don't know what to try....

   Have you gone to the HP website and checked that you have the latest video drivers? If you did a new install, you may need to check on many of your drivers for the latest versions.

   Going to Windows Updates can get you up. In the bottom section you will find the drivers for the VGA. First thing I do after a clean install.
