XP Drivers for a new machine

I just bought a new HP Pavillion a6123w. It came loaded with Vista, so I purged it. Now that I've got XP Pro Sp.2 Loaded, It doesn't have drivers for a lot of the hardware. Has anybody else run into this problem, I know I'm not the only one to own one of these things! Where can I find the software so that my machine recognises stuff?
Device Manager says;
Other PCI bridge device (?)
PCI Device (Sound card?)
PCI simple communication controller (ethernet controller?)
SM bus controller (?)
Video controller (VGA compatable) (Video, obviously)

Looks like you need to download the drivers from the HP site.

It seems as though they only offer drivers for Vista.

 

Precisely! It seems it is too new a machine for HP to have released anything for it but Vista Drivers because thats the only way they've sold it! Don't they realise that Vista Sucks?!? I've hated it ever since the evaluation releases a year ago, and I'm not impressed with their "fixes" so far! AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! It seems I'm just going to have to stick in some PCI cards untill enough people complain to them about a lack of support for other operating systems. The first thing I did after buying my machine was to purge the HD, and load XP. And even after this hassle, I'm still not sorry I did it! Anyway, Thanks for the reply, if anybody out there happens to run into a place (besides the HP website, they're not being helpfull!) that I can get driver support for this machine, I would be very gratefull for a lead, K?

 

What is the motherboard?

 

It's an ECS mcp61pm-hm AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-core 4400+ nVidia Geforce 6100 nForce 430

 

I Too have the same machine and have had no luck with the robots at HP and I too installed XP and need drivers.

 

A lot of new hardware is Vista specific and from what I understand many, if not all companies, will not write drivers for XP, extra expense to code them and all that. Too bad you don't like Vista as it is a good OS, of course compatibility is an issue with older peripherals and software but that was the case with XP too. You can always run XP as client in a virtual mode inside Vista I suppose. Virtual PC is free from MS.

I had the same issue.. Vista is Terrible... Had many annoying issues and decided to revert back to XP... Anyway, I contact HP directly and got all of the drivers for the system, unfortuanly they did not have an XP version for the video capture card.. I will continue to look and will post if I find a supported driver somwhere else.. Anyway, see below...
