    Howdy,

I really screw things up. I have a personal folder on my computer and thought it would be nice to encrypt it. so i went to the folder properties and check encrypt. well that worked well for about 3 to 4 weeks. Now i can see the files but cant open them. tried to decrypt them but it wont. went to Microsoft and looked but you have to have certain permissions and certs? The only thing i have changed on the pc is the password. don't know if this did it or not. Its a company pc and don't want to send it into the I.T. guys as it contains personal stuff that they don't need to look at. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

You might try changing your password back to the one you were using when you could access the encrypted folder, just as a temporary troubleshooting step. Does that work?

Thanks That worked!!!!!! thought of that before by forcing it in "manage" but it came up with a warning that the user would lose alot of functions including the encrypted data. So what the h i had already lost it. Changed pword and rebooted and there it was.

    Thanks

Go USAF!!! I'm Currently in Afghanistan having fun augmenting the army:cry. army chow suks
