XP GUI Load Slow

I have a Toshiba Satellite.
2 gig duo core
2 gig memory
200 gig HD 5600 rpm 70% free
Running XP pro SP2

Boot times have become very long. The desk top background loads and the TADA wav plays then it stops. No Disk activity for about 2 to 3 minutes. Bootvis also shows no activity during this time. Bootvis shows that after about 36.5 seconds Logon+Service starts and runs for 87.09 seconds. At about 47.5 seconds Shell starts and runs for about 79.23 seconds at the end of that time it says boot done at about 126.69 seconds.

I've done all of the usual stuff. Run AVG, CClean, Spybot search and distroy, adaware, defraged, cleaned out the startup stuff using msconfig, Bootvis optimize many times, etc etc etc

Any ideas as to why it just sets for about 2 minutes without doing anything?

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that I was using Bootvis to try and make things better. I was (am) only using it to get an idea what is going on when, it appears to me, the computer is not doing anything. Bootvis only confirmed that there is a long period of little to no cpu activity and no disk activity. The period of inactivity seems to be related to the time when logon+service starts and ends about 2 minutes after that. The site that you reference shows that I should be booting a lot faster than I am. I just haven't figured out how to get there.
