XP Hardware Profile problem

I wanted to create another hardware profile so I can tweak some things and boot back to my original if desired.
When I successfully completed creating a new profile and rebooted, I found that I was unable to select the second hardware profile because my keyboard UP and DOWN arrows would not move the cursor.
The up and down arrows work in games, but not when selecting a profile.
What might be causing this?

My goal is to maximize resources by running as few processes as possible, in another profile, to run a flight sim I play.

Ok, let me ask this..
Would it be plausible that my keyboard driver is not loaded when the "Hardware Profile/Configuration Recovery Menu" is on the screen?

Since the keyboard is a USB connection is there something in BIOS that can be set to get the driver to be active at this point?
Or, would I need to use a keyboard with a std SP/2 connector?

You can try making sure 'Legacy USB' is active or enabled in the BIOS

 

Yep, thats all it was..
USB Keboard Support was Disabled so I just enabled it. Problem solved.
