xp home activation loop

windows xp home edition .. valid serial key ... problems ... :cry


phoned up to activate done the activation procedure etc .. Thank you you have activated etc .. then go to logon and then the pop up comes back you need to activate windows xp home etc etc .. 3 times i have reinstalled same issue the key i am using is off the comp which was bought 7 month ago brand new in the box .. it accepts the key when installing and when activating over the online procedure and the phone, it accepts then back to square one ?? any ideas ??

i have since used a prog called wpa killer .. which then allowed me to access my comp then do windows update which included windows genuine advatage etc etc at the moment i'm doing all the updates and its ok at the minute fingers crossed

i did this
open'd in safe mode had a usb withe the WPA KILLER on executed then restarted ..
open'd normally withe no pop up box asking to activate .. then went to windows update .. and so foar so good

i have a eee pc netbook with the same prob so gonna try this on there aswell ..

 

I don't know what the deal was with this installation. I installed a fresh copy of XP Home SP2 and kept getting the loop. Did the suggestion above with WPA Killer...thought it was a little shady looking (now worried about virus's on my stuff), but it seems to have worked. I have run windows updates and all seems to be going well. Thanks for the fix!
