Hey guys finals are finally over, and know the tackling of computer problem begins.

I have a vaio notebook, which for the most part has been great, but recently i have noticed that after logging into xp home, the loading time is so slow.

The virus scan takes forever to load after, which my notebook it actually responds.

My second problem is that lets say my notebook is loading something, and if a little message pops up( during loading) if i cancel the message, my desktop has a leftover etch from that previous message that doesnt leave till i shut it down.

Is there anything i can do to tweak my system to its previous state?

Dont know what the problem is
If you can help that would be great

    Thanks
    D

Out of that little lot I would first get rid of the Adobe Gamma Loader as unless you need a ICC calibrated monitor for design work then its not needed.

other steps to take are look at what starts up at boot time and see if their are any apps that you dont need running straight away.... your system tray gives a big hint to some running apps.

as the others have said Virus, Spyware checks just to make sure nothing is using your resources.

black vipers lists on "services" is a must read.

plus DEFRAG the hard drive ;)

I ran everything from spybot to multiple virus scans. My problem comes down to understanding some software that is added to all sony laptops, which is called support.com. Somehow that startup is causing the initial lag.
