XP Home on laptop has Remote Desktop?

Hello,
I am having trouble setting up Remote Desktop from a Toshiba satellite M40 JM3 laptop to connect to a PC running XP professional. (No problem for my home XP pro PC to connect thanks to Adrynalyne)
I've read that Home edition does not have this feature installed -- I found the client software at MS. The install for this software stops and says that the laptop already is configured for remote desktop. That I should look under programs/accessories ...but its just not there!!
I've checked the options for all windows components that may not have been installed but there is no mention of remote desktop. Toshiba website is of no help at all!

Check under the Communications tab in Accessories.

 

There is no "Communication" tab in accessories.

 

I just did a quick check after reading your first post, and that is where it is located on my system. It is the second listing in Accessories and I'm running XP Home SP2. Apologize for any inconvenience.

 

The OLD version of RDC is listed under the 'Communications' folder, patching it to the latest version moves the shortcut to just under 'Accessories'.

@ kiat: If you do not have a shortcut in the start menu, try checking for %SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe, which is the executable for RDC. You can then manually create a shortcut wherever you like.

Note that %systemroot% is equal to your windows folder, which is typically found in the root of your C: drive.
