I've been dealing with my friend's laptop ever since he installed Service Pack 2. The current problem after installing SP2 is that there no longer is anything listed in device manager. I can open device manager through Control Panel or by right-clicking My Computer and going through Control Panel, but either way there are no devices listed. I know that the display adaptor is still working because I can see a high resolution and good color scheme. Also the print drivers are working fine.
This is a Toshiba Laptop with a Celeron Processor running XP Home.
    Any ideas?

Make sure your XP-user is part the Administrator-group, if this is already the case then try these steps to solve your problem:
