XP home Start->All Pgms = ( nothing) problem

i have an issue currently that has eliminated all my installed program files from my start-> all programs directory. i can access them via explorer but that is annoying. i did make one adjustment that may have caused this issue. i emptied out my REMOVEAFTERINSTALL files and folders. i assumed this would be ok, but i guess not. i also had a recent case of spyware which is now resolved. my favorates in i.e.6 have also gone away, but are also still accessable via explorer. seems like some pathing issue with my system but i am not for certain what's wrong,
any help would be appreciated...

well, figured out the answer to my dumb question. i had show hidden files checked for everything while troubleshooting something and by simply unchecking that enabled everything to come back. sorry to waste room on the board, maybe someone else will make this mistake some year....
