A friends computer was slowing down and the final result is that when the computer is turned on it will boot all the way up to where the individule accounts display to login on. Once you click on any account the OS will start to login into that users account but will only display the wall paper selected by the user. It seems as it just stops all together. I have tried to start up into the safe mode but again when I try to login into the admistrators login it goes all the way up to where it should be loading the users properties and then seems to stop. I have been in safe mode now for about 10 minutes and the hourglass symbol has started to flashes intermittantly with accompaning sounds of the hard drive being read. Is there anything short of trying to reload the XP OS to fix.
