I had a problem with HSA spyware and in the process of removing that I also lost all the loaded Icons that are at the bottom right hand corner of the screen by the clock. Does anyone know how to get them back?

I've got to start>control panel>task bar & start menu and messed with that but it still doesn't come back.

    Thanks for the help

Just an Idea, have you tried to right click on the bottom bar where you lost you icons, See what the properties are and try to recover your icons there, you can create a new toolbar !!!,Hope this is helpfull, Glenn :)

No I tried that and it doesn't work. I'm not talking about the quick launch bar talking about the icons that are near the clock. when I check properties I see all the items but the icons are no longer there.

click start > Settings > Taskbar & Start Menu ( or as you have done properties on the system tray )

    is Hide Inactive Icons ticked?

if it isnt try this for me ... tick it and click customise a new box will appear with a list of your installed apps now click to highlight one of them and you can then change its behaviour to Always Show.

let us know if that works if its not resolved or someone else helps you fix it in the mean time great if not I will look at ths thread tomorrow as ist late here and I need to getup early for work.

That's your system tray. You may need to go back into the options setting on the programs you want to run at start-up and check any run at startup and/or run in system tray option.

Hate to state the obvious, because you might have already tried it, but disabled programs having icons in the system tray will reappear after a reboot. Hope it's as simple as that!

Yeah I tried the Always show option still doesn't show up.

Also tried the reboot that didn't fix it either

I haven't tried setting up the start up options yet but i'm not on the computer with the problem but I will try that tomorrow and let you guys know how that turns out.

Thanks again for all the help. What did I do without this site?
