Xp Install Forces Login

    Installed a new hard drive on an HP Laptop.
    Installed XP Home
    Upon install, it's asking for the Admin login
    He never had one (it's a new hard drive) and it wont let him proceed w/o using one
    He tried admin for the password
    He tried user
    He tried password
    He tried to reinstall and choose R for repair
    always the same result
    it wants user name and password
    any ideas?

    The password being requested is that of the built-in Administrator account, not the password for any other administrative accounts you may have created.

    Unless you have deliberately set the Administrator's password, then just hit enter or cancel.
