XP Install on Vista machine (Dual Booting)

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone can help me with Installing XP SP3 on my Vista machine. Here are the specs;
MSI GX720
Intel P8600@ 2.4 Ghz
Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller
The problem i am having is when i boot from the XP DVD it doesn't recognize my HDD. I tried a program called nLite to integrate the drivers into XP (pre-install). I am not sure exactly which driver to use so i just put all the drivers in that came with Intel's Chipset Device Installer, made a new XP DVD with the drivers integrated and it still won't work.....I also put the drivers onto a USB Flash Drive and USB HDD and tried performing the F6 method but it doesn't detect those devices. So i am at my wits end, I'm stuck, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Thank you very much for this but unfortunately i do not run vista business or ultimate plus i would like to be able to play games in XP while Virtual PC only utilizes one core of the 2 core processor. If you can help me with the install though that would be great or point me in the right direction.

 

Hardware compatibility is a royal pain. Purchased an nvidia graphics card for a desktop dual booting Windows 7 and a Linux distro on it only to find out the monitor wasn't compatible with the graphics card while using Windows 7, although it is compatible with Vista. On the same Windows 7 setup I am using a wireless PCI card with drivers for XP, go figure...:mad Microsoft does have a hardware compatibility list...but some of your hardware probably does not have Windows XP drivers available for it.
