I recently installed a copy of XP home ed. that came with my laptop a new system, it required activation, I didnt time ran out.

I now have a copy of XP pro ed. that I want to install to install on that system. Transfereing the files will be had for me. Can I installed the XP pro without losing data?

How can I do that? what are my options ?

    Thanks alot

You can upgrade to XP Pro by putting in your disk and choosing the upgrade option when in XP Home. By rights, you should have backups when doing anything major like this.
