    I built a new computer running Windows 7 pro. I have been using a home brew lighting controller to run a traffic signal that I have, see http://www.discolitez.com/. I built this more than 10 years ago & have used it in Windows 98 ME & XP so I know it works. In the pattern control software you must set the port address but it only allows for 378,278 etc. In windows 7 the port address is D090. I installed MS virtual machine & XP mode to try & see if it would work that way. The program opens & runs fine but still does not communicate with the port even tho in XP mode the device manager shows the port as 378. The device manager also has 3 entries of "virtual pc intergration device" with the yellow question mark so I am wondering if something did not install correctly. The port properties says it is working. I have uninstalled it & reinstalled it with both the MS driver & the driver that came with it. The Discolitez site is no help the owner has not done anything with it since 2006 & nobody posts on the forum any more

    LPT port = sunix
    MB =Asus P67le
    Windows 7 pro

    Thanks
