    Hi,

I have just reinstalled XP SP2 and applied all of the available upgrades including SP3. I decided to change my antivirus to from Avast MSE, however when trying top install MSE I got the message that my copy of Windows could not be validated and could be a pirate copy. The OEM copy came preinstalled about three years and I had my motherboard renewed about a year ago and also upgraded my hard disk. This is the first time I have reinstalled XP and all is working fine but I am concerned about the validation issue.

Anyone know how I can resolve this.

    Axel

    Hi

It's likely that since you are reinstalling the same copy of Windows, it won't activate because typically it will only activate ONCE automatically. You will have to call Microsoft's 800 number to have them help you get it activated.
