xp oem disc question

I inherited:-D a still shrinkwrapped windows xp professional disc, sp2, version 2002. Can this be used legally for anything? and if so, would anyone here want it?

If it's been unopened, I don't see why you can't use it. If you don't want to use it, you can post it in the Buy/Sell forum.

Agreed with Tim, and by all means, post it in the Buy/Sell forum - valid, hologrammed XP disks (any version) are becoming increasingly harder to find.

The only question would be that it is an OEM. So if it was for a specific manufacturer, you may be limited on what systems it will install on. I have been able to use a Gateway OEM on a Toshiba, but not the other way around. :major

thanks all. Yea, it's never been opened. From one of my kids machines, I think. The little manual is with it. I could take a picture if needed. I have no use for it at all; just didn't want to trash it if someone could legally make use of it. Don't want any money for it, but postage. Am I out of line asking here in the lounge? If so, I'll go on to the B,S&T.

Best you post it in the Buy and Sell forum. Make sure you receive your costs before shipping it if anyone wants it.
