XP Office Repair

When I open XP Off. I get a message that I should run the repair function.
I can't figure out how to make this happen. Please help.

If you have your XP Office disk handy then put it in your CD drive. Once it auto-loads then select "Repair" from the options.

 

I have tried. When I insert the cd, autoplay won't work. I've tried to force auroplay from My Computer, but it will not work. The cd opens to show the folders on the disk. I've tried to manually start the exe file also. When I do that I get a message "autorun exe. file patch package cannot be opened".

Try this.
1. Have your XP Office disk in the CD drive.
2. Open "Control Panel" and go to "Add or Remove Programs".
3. In "Change or Remove Programs" navigate to "Microsoft Office XP", highlight it and click "Change". There should now be a box that will say "Repair". Click it and let it do its work.

It was a corrupt patch registry key.
