XP Password help

    My friend doesnt remember putting in a password for XP and cannot figure out what it is. Is there anyway to bypass the password at startup and disable it? or even change it to something she will know?

    Has your friend tried logging into the administrator account?

    Its usually a blank pasword.

    You can get to it from Safe Mode (only way if XP Home), or by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del key combo twice to bring up classic logon.

    Then you can put in the username administrator and a blank password and try to log in.
