I am attempting to remove a few programs from the StartUp tab in the registry with XP/Pro. I am not allowed to do this, getting the message that I need to logon as Administrator. In User Accounts, my name is listed as an Administrator account. Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Hi

Is this your home PC or a Corporate one? While you maybe listed as an admin, are you logged into the admin account now?

Youve not had malware infection at all or had to repair Windows have you?

Try this free app CCleaner and see if once installed you can delete the startups from the registrys run hive from Tools > Startup

*possible is also this I thought I had posted before knocking and clicking the mouse button to kill all my browser windows, but ist at Doug Knox's site and this link HERE and run the vb script file that should fix your security to access the registry BUT before using do tell us if you have malware and this is part of the cause after removing some of it?

Thanks Halo. This is Home PC, but it is one of two PCs on a wireless network. Both run XP/Pro. Does this matter?
    I'll try CCleaner.

Please explain further, you do not need to be an administrator to edit the registry on a normal pc.
