Hello- I am experiencing a lot of warnings and errors in my event viewer. Before I go into detail and supply screen shots, is there some people out there who are well experienced in this area?
    Thanks!

If you filter the Applications and System logs to the last 30 days, save them as the default *.evt(x) files then zip them, you could attach the resulting zip files to a reply and someone will will take a look over them for you.

It would help if you describe any recent oddities you might be seeing, any problems you're having.

Thanks for the reply, 'satrow'. I'll do as you suggested and post ASAP.

Tim, it would help if you described any signs and symptoms of anything unusual happening while you're running normally within Windows.

Reboot into Safe Mode, and open Windows Management > Services > set all three of these Services to Automatic: DCOM, SENS, WMI. Reboot, save and then clear the logs and check the logs again after running a normal Windows session.

Well, the only thing weird happening, that I can tell, is that I can't change my User Acct. picture on the Welcome Screen- it is stuck on the Chess Pieces- and it doesn't appear on the Start Menu. Other than that, all is well given that this machine is a relic. With that said, it does work well considering the limited cache and threading ability of the P4 Prescott cpu. The HDD isn't long for this world, either, although it does pass the WD simple test for SMART.
I'll follow through on your latest direction and report back. I already did the services.msc reset, but in Windows normal start-up mode. I'll try it in Safe Mode and see what happens.
Thanks for all the help. I can hardly wait to complete my new build!...just need the $1000 for the 2nd Gen i7-3960X!

'satrow'- I did as you instructed, and the DCOM issue is still happening, but not as frequently. Attached is a new .zip file.
    Thanks!

SMART tests mean almost nothing, a large majority of hard drives die without showing any SMART errors.

Did you forget to attach the zip?

Hmmm... it showed as being attached. Let me try again. :confused

If my Windows 7 log was as small as this per session, I'd be quite happy.

7001 error can be ignored if you don't have any shared folders on your network.

10005 error looks like it's a Remote Assistance 'problem', if you have RA disabled on purpose, ignore it.

Yeah, I have that service disabled intentionally, and I am not on a network, either.

I am grateful for all your help. Event Viewer is now showing 'Information' in Apps and System now.

The only thing that I have noticed in my system that requires constant repair is the autoplay/autorun for my optical drives. I have that M$ Repair Wizard filed in My Documents to run as needed. I am not sure why that keeps acting up.

One other problem I can't seem to get a handle on is the fact that I have no audio. Device Manager indicates all is well, and I have chased just about everything else down to no avail. Is it possible the Sound Card checked out even if Windows says device is functioning?

    Thanks!
