I've just upgraded my winME computer to WinXP Pro. I had only one HD before. But now while upgrading I've installed second one which is now C drive ( with NTFS file system ) and the old one is D ( still with FAT32 file system ). All my installed programs are on D. And now I have problem starting them up. Actually most of them won't even start. When I tried to remove those, XP doesn't list any of them in the Add/Remove programs utility. And I'd like to remove them before reinstalling anew. What should I do...???

    Appreciate any advice...:)

    Simply reformat it NTFS.

HI, I am not a techie really but you say you changed the drive and Installed the OS on a new Drive C but left the programs on the old(was C drive) now D drive.

When you try to start a program the OS is still looking for the programs in C drive and there are none there because you changed that drive to D.

The simplest way out of it would be to reinstall the programs. on to the new C drive or possibly just copying them over to C might work.

You could get a copy of COA2 from PC mag. which you have to subscribe for nowadays and use it to do the registry changes so the OS will know they are now on the D drive.

You could reinstall the programs to the D drive so the oS knows where they are.

I used COA2 to change my Program Files Folder to a different drive and it also keeps installing the programs to that folder which keeps it neat. Peace Mal
