XP Pro SP 3 quicklaunch icons stop working...

    HP Pavillion box running XP pro SP 3.

    Randomly, the icons on the quick launch bar go dead. Clicking on them results in no action occurring. Start menu works fine, it's only the taskbar icons.

    Hi Troyster, welcome to the forum :),

    You could try the Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!, there maybe something there that will fix it.

    I've tried the "Restore to Default XP" .vbs but it didn't have any effect. I suppose I haven't changed any default settings... thanks tho :)

    Hmm, the quick launch is part of Internet Explorer, can you find a setting to repair IE (I'm pretty sure some but not all versions of IE have that option), maybe in Add/Remove?

    Go here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
    and see if you can find anything unusual.
    If you have another computer running the same version of XP, maybe compare everything from the working computer to the semi-broken one.
