i suppose you could install XP Home on top of XP pro (just be sure not to delete any partitions or reformat any of them) and any XP Pro extras would be left on the drive unused (though i'm not sure of this)

But the question is, why? Is something wrong with your XP Pro? its superior to XP Home.

I agree with InYearsToCome (he beat me to it). :D
Why would you want to go back?
    What is wrong?
MG'ers here can surely help you solve any XP Pro problems. Bazza

Yes you will have to format the hard drive before you can install XP Home, as XP Pro is a higher rated product so you cannot do an downgrade install, so you will have to backup all your important data, files, settings, favorites, email, etc and clean install as its the only way to go Pro to Home.

Can also use http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457074.aspx but I still would manually backup all important files as a format will erase them.

Where as you can go from XP Home to Pro.

Thank you for all your replys. The reason I want to go back to XP home is, the computer I am using is not up to running Pro. I had Pro has a Xmas gift and I only just had chance to put it on, but my computer is freezing and all sorts of other problems are happening. I put more Ram in hoping this would solve the problem but it is still the same. I rang my local computer store and he told me I need pentium four and above to run pro, I only have pentium three, he thinks this is the problem. XP Home run fine so this is why I need to go back to it

Thanks Again to all of you

Hey, Rover you don't need more resources to run XP PRO than XP home.

Post details of you problems first as they will likely continue if you reinstall XP Home.
