    i've created a folder of sysinternals programs shortcuts, when itry to open any of the shortcuts the machine reboots. the programs run fine out of program files are the shortcuts corrupted? thanks

    No, i would say its a problem with the apps.

    Shortcuts wont reboot your computer.


    I would also go to System Properties, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery Settings, and under System Failure, uncheck automatically restart.

    Then you will get the error, not the reboot.

    thanks will do, in fact i only have to hover the cursor over the shortcut for the reboot to incur. i'll see what system says after changing sys failure setting

    now the shortcuts work after unchecking,thx,wonder what the heck is going on

    Run eventvwr.msc and check your Application and System logs for errors at the times of the reboots. That might give an indication of what's happening.
