the only thing i could find in bios is acpi suspend type and thats under power mangement and my options are:
s1(pos) and s3(str) and i tried both options the same thing could not load hal. or halacpi.
the mobo is a iwill ka266 ver. 1.3.
I went to the website and copied the bios to a floppy. now what do i do with it?

    Hey Mindset, robo,

on the same site where you downloaded the new biosversion there must have been a flash utility, which you also have to copy on a bootable floppy.
Then boot with the floppy and run the flash util (there should be a read_me.txt file included)

You'll also need to download the flash utility from the motherboard manufacturer's website. It will be something like flash.exe, or aflash.exe. Then you make a bootable floppy and put both of the files onto it. Then you boot to the floppy and type "flash.exe <filename of the BIOS>".

    Oops. Too slow. :)
