Xp problem please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:confused HI ALL, after the windows logo has finished on boot-up,a window pops-up saying WINDOWS INSTALLER,the progress bar at the bottom will run for about 3 minutes,then another window will pop-up asking for a CD,i have traced the software to the Programes folder,the software is called (SONIC) i have tried deleting this folder but it keeps saying FOLDER IS WRITE PROTECTED and i am unable to delete it, it slowing the boot-up time up too around 5 minutes,i cant click on cancel as it runs it coarse each time(ALSO I CANNOT REMEMBER INSTALLING ANY SOFTWARE CALLED SONIC !!!!! ) does anyone have any suggestions........I am running WINDOWS XP.......

You could try Ccleaner it also has an uninstall feature.

Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. It will provide a list of programs and you can remove the offending entry from the list. If possible, also uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs or remove it using a 3rd party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller. You can download the cleanup tool from this link. Sonic is CD/DVD burning software. It usually comes installed on pre loaded Toshiba laptops.
