Allright Ive been getting blue screens, half the time it shows me a problem with win32.sys or a message : driver irql not less or eqaul. Now Ive been getting this messages a long time. So first I "vaccumed" the dust out of my computer and it worked fine for 6 months, but now its back. Now ive put blocks under the bottom of my laptop to elevate it so its has more cooling, which helps but it doesnt solve my problem.

    I have an Alienware Area-51 5500 (it's 2 years old)
    3.4 GHz
    1G of RAM
    250 GB HD
    And im running xp sp1

Go to Start/Run type sfc /scannow "note" space between sfc and / have your xp cd ready..Remember to let the scan finish completely.

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.

What are the error messages verbatim?

NTFS.sys could lead to file corruption
win32.sys could tie in with the irql error

driver irql not less than equal, generally refers to a software issue over hardware and the normal culprit is the graphics driver, so try to reinstall the graphics driver Alienware suggest.

but we will need the full error messages to correctly offer advice as we need in some of those errors to know what the faulting device is or the actual STOP error code.

are these errors at boot time or random?

They are at random mostly when I am playing games or other things which "stres" the computer.

Is there anyway I can get the stop error codes or do I have to wait for another blue screen to write it down.

    Thanks.
