XP Reboot cycle

Hi Guys,

I was following the Windows XP Cleaning procedure and was running the Combofix.exe and it froze (it registered that it delete some files before freezing). The only way to start was to switch the PC off. The Windows XP now starts but reverts back to the screen with the options of safe boot, normal boot, etc. I have tried all of the above and it cycles around and around. My questions is that can I and how do I now fix my operating system other than a complete re-stall.

The PC is probably crashing to a blue screen but it restarts before you get a chance to see it. If you dont see "Disable Automatic Restart...." in the boot options, press F8 right when the PC first boots up, after the power on logo (Dell, HP, Compaq, your motherboard logo, etc). Press F8 repeatedly until you see the Windows Boot Options menu. Select "Disable Automatic Restart........" and proceed to boot up. When the PC crashes, it should stop on a blue screen with an error number like 0x0000007F and (hopefully) an error message like KERNEL_FAULT_IN_NOPAGED_AREA or something.... sometimes a file name is listed also like kernel32.sys or ntfs.sys or something. Post all this info and we'll go from there.

Sorry for the delay....the PC was due for a complete re-install anyway...so no problems....re-installed OS and relevant drivers...all good....
