    XP SP3 Home, single monitor.
When resume from standby, about 10-15% of the time the monitor comes back at 640x480 instead of the usual and desired 1680x1050. The rest of the time it is OK.
Any idea what might be causing this?
PC is a pretty new Lenovo Q150 with supplied OS.

The only thing I can think of is
a: A faulty graphics driver, in which case you should update to the latest version
    b. A problem with Windows, which might be fixed in an update, in this case run windows update and see if there are any optional DLs available related to the display.

Well, I now have a reliable BYPASS, simply STANDBY again, then RESUME.
This works about 90% of the time, the other 10%, just repeat the bypass.
Sorry the news isn't better, just more MS BS I guess....

Wish I had the answer, but this is a tricky area. Using standby mode can result in such unwanted changes with resolution. Some sources recommend avoiding standby on desktops. If it's a laptop where battery saving is a concern, research using standby mode and become familiar with any potential glitches that might result. We don't want screen resolution changing unexpectedly. Good luck.
