Please explain this. I don't like SP2, myself.

Keep in mind MS hasn't even sent Sp3 to beta testers...this is just a collection of what you could have downloaded on your own, and may, or may not want.

Bit of an unofficial SP3 update as their are no firm plans for an SP3 release yet.

These are a full collection of whats available to date since the release of SP2, the majority of them you will have via WU,but the odd few are only to fix certain issues of which you would have to contact MS to get the download

( this full pack of avail updates is good if you want to be fully upto date BUT you will have all critical security updates etc todate already as I said via WU, any you have missing will be obscure fixes for certain software/hardware combinations )

    EDIT: @ Adryn ... SNAP :)

I had mentioned this before bazza, keep in mind those updates you have to call MS for are not regression tested, and often times are either updated before sent to the public or replaced by something else, that includes the fix as well.

Installing something that hasn't been regression tested, is just asking for trouble. Having been one of the people who approved sending hotixes to customers who called in, often said hotifx was for a very specific issue, on specific hardware and software setups.

The public articles usually don't tell you that.

Thanks Adrynalyne. The reason I mentioned this in the first place, is that it is listed in the MG front page. Most of us place great faith in what is listed by MG. We find lots of valuable stuff there and it is a great resource for new programs, updates, etc.

I had no intention of downloading it, impossible on dialup anyhow, but mentioned it to see what responses it got. Pro's and cons of thinking about using it. Bazza

PS: Still haven't got a modem driver for my laptop yet, that passes the XP "test", so XP sits on my laptop, mostly unused, while I use this old desktop. Baz
