xp service pak 3 yes or no

Anyone have problems with xp service pak 3 or is it ok. Guess it's about ime to install. Thanks

 

Guess it pretty much depends on your system. Some people have problems with install but goes smoothly for others.
My disk came with SP3 installed already so was no big deal.
What I have read says not too much difference between 2 and 3. Just a few updates you can get from Windows Update yourself.

 

This is for an older system that I just re-instaled xp pro with service pk 2 on. I looked at windows update and it shows 125 updates available. Now that's a lot but if service pk 3 has all the updates it would save a lot of time. Guess I'll try and see what happens. I could always re-install again. Thanks

 

A lot of those updates are going to be for media player, Outlook Express, and other things I personally don't use, so I choose which ones I install.
A lot of them are Security updates and updates to Windows XP though, so you have actually made a good choice.
