I'm running Win XP and twice recently for some reason several of my services have been disabled. I run antispyware programs daily and when this happens I scan for viruses and find none.

Can someone please tell me what might be the cause of this disabling of Services?

    Thank you.

    Sure, sorry.

I’m using Symantec Endpoint AntiVirus. All of the services related to it were disabled.
    Namely:
    Symantec Endpoint Protection
    Symantec Event Manager
    Symantec Management Client
    Symantec Network Access Control
    Symantec Settings Manager
    System Even Notification

In addition to these the following were also disabled:
    Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service
    PC Tools Auxiliary Service
    PC Tools Security Service

Anything that's disabling antivirus and security program services is likely to be malware.

My suggestion would be to go to the Malware forum and carefully follow the instructions in the Read and Run Me First sticky thread. :)

    Thanks mcsmc,

    I'll look into it.
