I am thinking to go from a single hdd to a setup with raid 5 on three hdd.

Is this possible? Any guides? I had read XP supports raid 0 and raid 1 without mention of raid 5. Also read the drivers for raid in the case of a clean install can be done only through floppy discs, true or false?

I am not wanting to do a clean installation but use the installation I have running which is very stable.

I was thinking to add the raid drivers to the current installation for the motherboard, shutdown, install the two new drives, while rebooting enter the bios to make changes, use disk management to set the new drives to raid then wait for the OS to work on the drives.

i found a site stating 'Basically by default Raid5 and Mirrored volumes are not an option in windows xp professional neither windows xp home to set configure them so that they support these volumes as well you might want to view this video.'

    anyone?
