    Hi All,

I have a XP Pro SP2 workstation in a server 2003 AD DC/DHCP/DNS environment. Suddenly, this machine refuses to connect to any other machine by hostname (ie, I can't go Start --> Run \\computername), cannot be connected TO by hostname (by IP works fine), nor can it browse the network. However, it CAN ping hostnames and resolve to the correct IP, and it can be pinged.

I would THINK it was a browser service issue, but the service shouldn't be necessary on a domain, and it doesn't make any difference if the 'Computer Browser' service is running or not.

The event logs show nothing too out of the ordinary.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this, and how I might correct it?

    TIA,

    Milty

Resolved! Found that NetBIOS over TCP was disabled.
