XP sp3 needed?

I am being told my windows updates I need SP3 for my windows XP O/S
Should I download this?
I am anzy about modifying things, I figure if it's not broken, then what am I doing to it?

Please excuse the stupidity of this post, I am not a computer person at all, I barely know how to use my glasses.

I would recommend installing it as it contains security patches and operating system updates among much else.

 

Hello watchntv :wave I would also suggest installing SP3. I am using XP Pro and have SP3 and altho I don't notice any changes, the computer does. It is a good thing.. If you have Automatic Updates selected, it should pick it up... Are you on a hi-speed connection? If so, you should be able to download and install with no problem. It is good for your system

 

I third that, you should install SP3.

Eh, my computer was sort of sluggish after the update. What are your specs like?

 

Hey zDawg32, Mine wasn't at all, and I didn't even notice any difference. May have something to do with memory, or free space, but I haven't heard anyone have any problems with SP3. :confused

I still say to update to SP3, as his computer will thank him
