XP startup major slow since esata

ever since i added an esata external hdd, holy **** windows starts up so slow, it gets to the first screen where the progrss bar thing goes from left to right, and just that part like comes out of fade very very slow then gets to it and still takes ages

i unhooked the hdd and now everythings fine again, also since i hooked it up my scanner has stopped working

still even now wont work, i just get this eror, im unsure what forum to put this in since im having multi problems

anyways my scanner is an HP 4850

 

yea i did a restore to a point before i installed that, so now its gone

however my scanner still wont work, the restore is befor e i hooked up the esata hdd, and that hdd is no longer hooked up, im gunna try to uninstall the scanner and reinstall it, this thread can be closed
